FREEDOM
Freedom is so often associated with power, or at least the illusion of power. We "fight" for freedom. We cling to it. We do what it takes to assure that ours is upheld - often even if at the expense of others.
I've been thinking of this a lot lately. Clearly there are many things to be said about this country's definition of and relationship with freedom, and what that has to do with power. I'll save that for another day.
Today I am thinking of a different kind of freedom. An unlikely freedom. The freedom that comes with letting go; with submission. Many say they find "freedom" through submission to belief in God, through submission to God's will.
Because I don't know what that is, I have a hard time submitting to it.
But that's what faith is all about, isn't it? Submitting to an idea, even if it cannot be explained, and through that submission - finding freedom!
